The only thing that is consistent is that if a card works, it always works, and if a card does not work properly it never works properly. Some even confirm that the same SD card works by using a USB-C adapter. Tried both cards fresh from the packet in my moto g 4g and they do not work and will not format in the phone. So i went ahead and order two class 10 16gb Kingston micro sd cards from Amazon.

The SD card issue was a known problem to Motorola that was supposed to have been fixed with the 4.4.4 update - when my phone updated to 4.4.4 it even said issues with class 10 cards had been fixed.
